Job Description

We are seeking a Subcontract Engineer to support the commercial and contractual management of construction works for a project located in Al Qurayyat, Saudi Arabia. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing subcontract packages, ensuring contractual compliance, and supporting project correspondence and claims in line with contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer multiple subcontract packages from award to close-out.
  • Review subcontractor technical and commercial proposals for alignment with project requirements.
  • Draft, review, and issue formal letters, notices, and project correspondence.
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with contractual terms, specifications, and procedures.
  • Interpret contract clauses and advise the project team on contractual matters.
  • Prepare and manage subcontract agreements in accordance with approved frameworks.
  • Handle subcontractor claims, variations, notices, and contractual procedures in line with FIDIC conditions.
  • Coordinate with internal project teams to ensure proper documentation and record-keeping.
  • Support negotiations and meetings with subcontractors when required.
  • Maintain organized contract and project documentation using approved systems.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (any discipline).
  • 3 to 6 years of experience in subcontract or contracts management within construction or engineering projects.
  • Strong experience in drafting formal letters and professional project correspondence.
  • Solid knowledge of FIDIC contract conditions, including claims, variations, notices, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with standard contract frameworks used in construction and engineering projects.
  • Proven ability to interpret contractual clauses and ensure compliance.
  • Experience reviewing subcontractor submissions (technical and commercial).
  • Proficiency in MS Office and project documentation systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple subcontract packages simultaneously.
  • Currently available in KSA or able to mobilize immediately.
