We are looking for an experienced Head Operator to oversee daily machine operations and guide a team of production operators. The successful candidate will ensure machinery is correctly set up, production runs efficiently, and finished products meet quality standards while maintaining a safe working environment. This hands-on role requires strong technical knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to coordinate production activities to achieve output targets and minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate production operators, assigning tasks according to production schedules and operational priorities.
Perform and oversee machine setup, adjustments, startup, shutdown, and product changeovers.
Monitor machine performance and production output to maintain consistent quality and meet production targets.
Troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate with the maintenance team to resolve equipment faults.
Conduct routine equipment checks and ensure operators complete required cleaning and basic maintenance tasks.
Verify that materials, machine settings, and finished products meet approved production specifications.
Identify and report defects, process deviations, equipment malfunctions, and safety concerns.
Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures, safety requirements, and housekeeping standards.
Train and coach operators on equipment operation, quality checks, and safe working practices.
Maintain accurate records of production quantities, downtime, waste, and operational issues.
Coordinate with production, quality, maintenance, and warehouse teams to support smooth operations.
Recommend improvements to reduce waste, shorten changeover times, and improve productivity.
Conduct clear shift handovers, communicating production status and outstanding issues.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing or production, including hands-on operation of production machinery.
Previous experience leading or supervising a team of operators.
Strong knowledge of production machinery, operating procedures, and manufacturing processes.
Proven experience in machine setup, changeovers, adjustments, and troubleshooting.
Ability to read and follow work instructions, production specifications, and machine operating guidelines.
Good understanding of quality control procedures and workplace health and safety practices.
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to monitor production performance and maintain accurate operational records.
