Job Description

A leading construction company in Beirut is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates, review technical drawings, conduct quantity take-offs, and coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to submit competitive tenders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical systems and installations.
  • Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs to determine project requirements.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare material and equipment cost breakdowns.
  • Calculate direct and indirect costs, including materials, labor, equipment, and installation costs
  • Prepare and analyze RFQs and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and verify quotations.
  • Analyze labor rates, productivity, and installation requirements to ensure accurate pricing.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and propose value engineering solutions.
  • Prepare tender submissions, commercial clarifications, and supporting cost documentation.
  • Maintain and update cost databases, supplier rates, and historical pricing records.
  • Identify potential technical and commercial risks and incorporate them into estimates.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project teams to ensure accurate and timely tender submissions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 4 of the last 6 years in electrical/MEP contracting estimation.
  • Strong knowledge of MV/LV systems, generators, lighting, small power, and low-current systems.
  • Proven experience in BOQs, quantity take-offs, cost estimation, and tender preparation.
  • Strong understanding of electrical materials, installation methods, labor costs, and productivity rates.
  • Experience in supplier and subcontractor quotation analysis and commercial negotiations.
  • Proficiency in Advanced Excel and AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of international electrical standards (IEC/British/French) and FIDIC is an advantage.
  • Good command of English; French and Arabic are considered advantages.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet tight deadlines.
