The MEP Project Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the execution of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) works across large-scale construction projects, from project initiation through to completion and handover. The role ensures that all MEP activities are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with quality, safety, and contractual requirements. The MEP Project Manager plays a critical role in coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing stakeholders, and driving project performance to achieve successful delivery and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the full lifecycle of MEP project execution, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards.
Develop and implement project execution strategies, work plans, and resource allocation plans in alignment with overall project objectives.
Oversee all MEP works on-site, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, and ELV system
Coordinate closely with civil, architectural, and other project teams to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems.
Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure efficient execution and compliance with specifications.
Monitor project progress, identify potential delays or risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain project timelines.
Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical documentation.
Ensure compliance with local regulations, international standards, and health & safety requirements.
Lead project meetings with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders to provide updates and resolve issues.
Manage project budgets, track costs, and ensure effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Drive value engineering initiatives and optimize project costs without compromising quality.
Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover processes to ensure systems are fully operational and meet client requirements.
Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project delivery.
Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and communication throughout all project phases.
Lead, mentor, and develop project teams, fostering a high-performance and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Minimum 10–15 years of experience in MEP project management, with exposure to large-scale construction projects
Strong technical knowledge of MEP systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire fighting, and ELV systems
Proven experience in GCC and/or African projects is highly preferred
Strong command of the French language (written and spoken)
Proficiency in project management and engineering software (AutoCAD, Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar)
Strong understanding of project planning, execution, and cost control
Proven ability to manage subcontractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams
Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to handle multiple projects and work under pressure to meet deadlines
