The Group Commercial Director is responsible for leading and overseeing the company’s overall commercial operations and business growth strategy across multiple business units and markets. The role drives revenue generation, commercial planning, client relationship management, business development, and strategic partnerships while ensuring alignment with the company’s objectives and profitability targets. The Group Commercial Director plays a key role in identifying new market opportunities, strengthening the company’s market position, leading commercial teams, and supporting executive decision-making to maximize growth, operational performance, and long-term business success.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute group-wide commercial and growth strategies
Lead national sales operations and manage commercial KPIs
Strengthen distribution networks, key accounts, and market penetration
Drive marketing, branding, and trade marketing initiatives
Identify new business opportunities and expansion across Nigeria and West Africa
Develop pricing and profitability strategies across product lines
Collaborate closely with production, supply chain, and finance teams
Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing commercial teams
Report commercial performance and strategic insights to senior leadership
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
MBA or postgraduate qualification is highly preferred
Minimum 10 years of commercial experience, including 7 years in senior leadership roles
Strong background in FMCG, manufacturing, or consumer goods
Experience in African markets, particularly Nigeria, is highly desirable
Proven success in driving revenue growth and managing large sales teams
Strong leadership, negotiation, and strategic planning skills
English language proficiency required
