We are seeking an experienced Project Planner / Planning Engineer to join a leading construction company in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules for Power Generation projects, with particular emphasis on Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) projects.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
Prepare and manage baseline, recovery, revised, and look-ahead schedules.
Monitor project progress against approved schedules, milestones, and contractual targets.
Identify schedule delays, risks, constraints, and critical activities and recommend corrective actions.
Perform Critical Path Method (CPM) and schedule performance analysis.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning teams, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
Collect, verify, and consolidate progress information from different project disciplines.
Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, schedule updates, management presentations, and performance summaries.
Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards for progress tracking and project performance reporting.
Support project forecasting, resource planning, manpower analysis, and productivity monitoring.
Monitor key project indicators and highlight potential schedule or resource issues to project management.
Assist in evaluating subcontractor schedules and ensuring alignment with the overall project programmed.
Support planning activities for EPC, construction, commissioning, maintenance, and shutdown projects as required.
Maintain accurate planning records and ensure schedules reflect actual project status.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in project planning and scheduling within the Power Generation industry.
Proven experience working on at least 2 Combined Cycle Power Generation Plant (CCPP) projects.
Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
Strong knowledge of project controls, progress measurement, forecasting, schedule management, and critical path analysis.
Previous experience in EPC, construction, commissioning, maintenance, or shutdown projects is highly preferred.
Ability to analyze complex schedules and identify delays, trends, risks, and recovery opportunities.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and coordination skills with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to prepare clear and accurate project reports and management presentations.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work within demanding project deadlines.
