Job Description

The Senior Civil Estimation Engineer will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, tender submissions, quantity take-offs, and project budgets for civil construction projects. He will analyze drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure competitive and profitable bids while collaborating closely with the engineering, procurement, and project management teams. The role also involves evaluating project risks, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and supporting successful project execution through precise planning and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and tender submissions for civil construction projects.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to determine project scope and pricing requirements.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and detailed cost analyses for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project teams during the tendering process.
  • Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Maintain updated cost databases and ensure compliance with company standards and client requirements.
  • Support contract negotiations and provide estimation support throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil estimation within the construction industry.
  • Proven experience in preparing cost estimates, BOQs, tender submissions, and pricing for large-scale construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, quantity surveying, and cost estimation principles.
  • Experience working on construction projects in Saudi Arabia (KSA) is mandatory.
  • Excellent command of the English language; Arabic is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and time management skills with the ability to meet strict tender deadlines.
