Project Director

Job Description

The Project Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight for major construction projects or portfolios, ensuring successful delivery in terms of cost, schedule, quality, safety, and client satisfaction. This role manages senior project teams, oversees commercial and operational performance, and acts as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders and executive management across projects in Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and oversee the execution of major construction projects from planning through completion.
Define project strategies, objectives, and execution frameworks.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to contractual obligations.
Monitor overall project performance, risk management, and operational efficiency.
Manage relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders.
Oversee project budgets, forecasts, claims, and commercial performance.
Ensure compliance with quality standards, HSE regulations, and company policies.
Provide leadership and direction to project managers, construction managers, and project teams.
Review and approve major project plans, schedules, procurement strategies, and staffing plans.
Support dispute resolution, contractual negotiations, and variation management.
Conduct executive progress reviews and provide reports to senior leadership.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across project operations and delivery.
Ensure successful project close-out, handover, and client satisfaction.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Minimum 15 years of experience in project management and construction leadership roles.
Mandatory experience managing construction projects in Saudi Arabia.
Proven experience managing large-scale and high-value construction projects.
Strong expertise in project execution, commercial management, and strategic planning.
Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong understanding of Saudi construction regulations, contracts, claims management, and risk mitigation.
Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and project management systems.
