The Accountant will support the finance department by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of daily financial records. This operational role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of handling high-volume data entry and maintaining up-to-date ledgers. The ideal candidate will focus on the reconciliation of bank and supplier accounts, ensuring that the accounting software reflects the real-time financial status of the organization and supports the broader finance team in month-end closures.
Key Responsibilities
Perform accurate daily data entry of financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and receipts, into the accounting system of different entities of the group.
Conduct regular reconciliation of bank statements against General Ledger entries to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Reconcile supplier accounts by verifying vendor statements against company records to ensure accurate payables.
Ensure the accounting software is kept up to date by recording all transactions in a timely manner and maintaining accurate master data (vendor/customer profiles).
Manage suppliers’ payments with banks by preparing and following up on transfers with banks.
Ensure timely and accurate month-end close in line with group deadlines.
Education and Certification
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Registration with the Ministry of Finance (or in the process of registering) is a plus.
Interest in pursuing professional certification (CPA, CMA, or ACCA) is encouraged but not required.
Experience
3–5 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or data entry.
Demonstrated experience with data entry and maintaining financial records.
Experience with reconciliation processes (bank and suppliers) is highly desirable.
Experience with Bank relations
Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is considered a plus.
Technical Knowledge
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Dolphin, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems).
Strong command of Microsoft Excel (specifically VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables).
Basic understanding of accounting principles and standards (IFRS).
