Job Description

A leading supermarket in Mozambique is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager with strong on-ground supermarket retail experience to manage sourcing, supplier relationships, and product availability across stores.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end procurement for supermarket operations (FMCG, fresh, non-food).
  • Source, negotiate, and manage local and international suppliers.
  • Ensure product availability, optimal stock levels, and competitive pricing.
  • Monitor market trends, demand forecasting, and inventory planning.
  • Coordinate closely with operations, logistics, and finance teams.
  • Control procurement costs while maintaining quality and supply continuity.

Requirements

  • Mandatory supermarket retail experience (applications without this will not be considered).
  • Proven experience in on-ground procurement operations.
  • Strong negotiation, supplier management, and commercial skills.
  • Ability to work in emerging markets and fast-paced retail environments.
  • Willingness to relocate and work in Mozambique.
