We are looking for an Inventory Manager to join our growing supermarket chain in Mozambique. The ideal candidate must have solid experience in retail or FMCG inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management: Oversee and manage inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock levels are maintained, and stock-outs or overstocking are avoided.
Stock Monitoring: Regularly monitor and review stock movements, including deliveries and stock consumption, to maintain accurate records and ensure the availability of products.
Loss Prevention: Implement strategies to minimize inventory losses due to theft, damage, or inaccuracies, ensuring proper storage and handling of goods.
Order Management: Coordinate with suppliers to place timely orders, ensuring product availability without excessive overstock. Manage reordering schedules based on stock turnover.
Inventory Reporting: Prepare regular inventory reports for senior management, highlighting any discrepancies, trends, and forecasts for future needs.
Stock Audits: Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts, reconciling physical inventory with system records to identify and correct discrepancies.
Warehouse Organization: Ensure proper organization of the warehouse and storage areas to optimize space, facilitate efficient stock picking, and ensure easy access to high-demand products.
Product Rotation: Ensure products are rotated correctly, especially perishables, to prevent expired goods from remaining on shelves and ensure freshness.
Supplier Relations: Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely deliveries, negotiate pricing, and resolve any supply issues that may arise.
Forecasting and Planning: Work closely with the procurement team to forecast inventory needs based on sales trends and upcoming promotions, helping to manage budget allocation for stock purchases.
Team Supervision: Supervise inventory staff, ensuring adherence to inventory control procedures, maintaining accuracy in stock records, and promoting effective teamwork.
System Management: Utilize inventory management systems and tools to track stock levels, manage orders, and report on key metrics, ensuring systems are up-to-date and efficient.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant local laws and company policies related to inventory management, safety, and storage.
Requirements
Proven experience in inventory control and stock management.
Background in retail or FMCG is a must.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to monitor stock levels, prevent losses, and ensure accurate reporting.
